miditui#Create a music player in the terminal using Rust was another Rust stress test I gave to LLMs: command line terminals can’t play audio, right? Turns out, it can with the rodio crate. Given the success so far with Opus 4.5 I decided to make the tasks more difficult: terminals can play sound, but can it compose sound? So I asked Opus 4.5 to create a MIDI composer and playback DAW within a terminal, which worked. Adding features forced me to learn more about how MIDIs and SoundFonts actually work, so it was also educational!。关于这个话题,WPS官方版本下载提供了深入分析
The answer is essentially hardware-level dependency injection. Before calling LD_DESCRIPTOR, the caller saves its desired test constant into a hardware latch using a micro-op called PTSAV (Protection Save). Within LD_DESCRIPTOR, another micro-op called PTOVRR (Protection Override) retrieves and fires the saved test.,更多细节参见heLLoword翻译官方下载
The Test PLA extends this idea further. It operates asynchronously with respect to the sequencer. After a protection test fires, the PLA needs time to evaluate and produce its redirect address. Instead of stalling, the 386 allows the next three micro-instructions to execute before the redirect takes effect -- and the microcode is carefully written to use these delay slots productively. This is tremendously confusing when reading the microcode for the first time (huge credit to the disassembly work by reenigne). But Intel did it for performance.
